Don't feel bad about it man. I've been purging my GameCube collection onto eBay lately myself, to drum up spare cash for 3DS and Vita releases. I plan to start purging my Xbox collection after that.PartridgeSenpai wrote:After looking at all of the PS1 games on PSN last week, the extent of my physical PS1 gaming has turned to somewhat of a purge of the more expensive titles to get me back into the black. Vanguard Bandits and Suikoden are goin' on eBay today, because otherwise I'm gonna have to make some other monetary sacrifices with things like food which are less viable to do Xp
I had a hard realization recently, that I very rarely replay a game once I beat it. Like, I think I've done that maybe three or four times in 33+ years of gaming. Truth be told, most of the time, once I finish a game, it goes in my memory palace and I never actually touch it again. So in that regard, what's the point of keeping all these beaten games around that I'll never play again? All I'm doing at that point is hoarding, and depriving other fellow gamers of a higher chance of getting to play them themselves.
So I said the hell with the collector/hoarder mindset and have started to seriously purge my game library. I literally own hundreds if not over a thousand console games alone. I likely own just as many PC games. So it's time to sell games to buy games. The only games I will keep that I've already beaten, are games that have deep sentimental value, or were so damned amazing I must beat them again in the future someday. (Because as we age playing a game you beat ten or twenty years ago becomes a different experience.)
Anyway just thought I'd share a recent mindset seachange. Carry on.
