PSO I & II does NOT deserve a place on this list.

Let's get some votes against it, folks. Both games are far better on Xbox (graphics) or PC (connectivity) today. No reason to play it on GCN with the shit controller.

The Xbox version is only useful as a coaster since it can't even be played offline.

But you are right, no reason to play GCN PSO when the PC is where it is at.

Some people still like couch coop. And are the Gal Da Val areas in PSOBB? I honestly cant remember.

That said, I prefer the pc version and I will probably never fire up my Gamecube version again.

Single player mode. The new one is a sequel and not a re-release. There is enough difference that many still cling to melee.

A lot of the hardcore community still considers Melee the best version of the game. And that includes the Wii U version. Now, I don't know that I agree, but it's still surprisingly popular despite two followups. It's also its own game, so just like subsequent Mario Karts don't knock out Double Dash, I think this should be the same.

Melee is possibly more popular now than it has ever been before. A whole new generation is finding this game...and loving it. Not that price is a be all / end all, but the price does reflect what is being said in thread. It's doing $60 regularly and was only doing $30-40 prior to the Wii U release. Conversely, the Wii version is now considered the obsolete of the 4.

Yeah, Brawl was heavily flawed.

I think that Double Dash is unique enough to separate it from the other ones. Plus, it still beats the hell out of the Wii version.

Isn't the new SSB the same as Melee as far as the gameplay, just with more characters, items, and upgraded visuals?

It would be interesting to know if the mere presence of an offline account is enough to let you log into the game for single player.

Unfortunately in my case the servers were already offline and I couldn't create an Xbox account for this purpose.

You cannot even access the menu of the Xbox version, unless you have an Xbox Live Account Stored locally on the machine. Even if you did, there is no 4 player split-screen like the Gamecube version. Gone are all of my characters from that version of the game. It was enjoyable while it lasted, but Dave needs to quit trolling, the Blue Burst version is not definitive.

Do you even PROGRESSIVE SCAN? That's right I went there. The multiplayer is awesome, private servers still accessible.

Also, From what I understand from my students who are in the competitive scene Smash scene, it's Melee > Wii U > N64 > Wii.

In some ways it's true that the PC version of Phantasy Star Online I & II is the one to get, although it's actually called Phantasy Star Online: Blue Burst. It contains the exclusive Episode IV extending gameplay further, along with everything else from previous versions. (Episode III remains exclusive to GC as C.A.R.D. Revolution.) And the usual fun PC abilities of upping the resolution and frame rate of course. That said, Blue Burst is something I've never seen for sale in the wild or online, despite getting a USA release in 2005. I don't know how you'd legally obtain it, or if Blue Burst is even playable offline.

That's why I said the GC version is the best. It's expensive but you can still obtain it. The Xbox one is not playable anymore (we think), and the DC version doesn't even have Episode II.
