With the disclaimer that I'm not trying to stir the pot, Ocarina is a pretty terrible game, and alongside a lot of other N64 games, has aged poorly even with a new coat of paint.

Majora's Mask on the other hand, is like nectar from the gods and you have to play that shit right fucking now.

That is exactly what Nintendo should do: make things Nintendo Store exclusive. Online or in New York. Two separate pools of stock.

I would speed through the BQE, through the Brooklyn Bridge, and be at Rockefeller Center in 40 minutes tops!

Basically yeah that. The thing is they're not reproductions, they're stolen games, warez. The boxes and the stuff are warez too, since they're using copyrighted information and imagery to make that stuff as well. A good habit during my time there was to get a stolen game like a proto or a translation of a JP only title, wire it to an existing board or use new parts to make the game, then do a required or optional manual/box setup and then limit it to some ridiculously small amount for an usually fair enough rate. Within weeks to months the copies start popping back up on there, other boards and/or ebay and for a hefty profit. It's kind of like this stuff with the MM3D limited edition in that you make a small amount of items, people wait for X day to arrive, poach them up quick then turn around and flip to someone who couldn't be there at that moment for a lot more.

I'd never say Ocarina is remotely approaching terrible. Disappointing after coming off of Link's Awakening and A Link to the Past? You betcha. But it was always solid to me, if not "greatest game EVAR" level.

And then I played the remade 3DS version, and I absolutely loved my time with it. It's amazing what a bit more polish and tech can do for certain games. I certainly hold it in higher esteem than I once did.

Ya know, I visit that site once in awhile and feel like the whole forum is simply dedicated to buying and selling games and bragging about collection size. Are game players a dying breed?

Anyhow, this game looks awesome. Still need to get through Ocarina on 3DS. Love them both on N64, of course.

I couldn't possibly agree more with both the last 2 posts.

Ocarina of Time while good was a massive let down after the previous couple of games Nintendo made alone (LA and LTTP.) The 3DS game gave it some well needed polish to work out some old kinks, and yeah sure it does look and sound nicer too as a side effect of better tech.

NA--I was there four years, more than the last 1/2 of that ever increasingly went that way. It's an e-peen measuring contest on who can piss the most cash while not losing their home or not paying the bills on old Nintendo related games, merchandise and oddities. They have the gamers board, it gets decent traction, if you don't say anything that'll anger the collecting gods, but much of the rest is all about collection and working with stolen goods (protos, translations, both somehow 'legal' to sell.) Gamers in that world are a suffering breed, dying might be drastic. It's why I signed up at Digital Press two years into it there to get some balance and I read here but signed up later on.

I for one buy more than I have time to play, but someday I hope to have time to play what I've bought. You know, retirement or winning the lottery or some such thing.

That said, I personally buy video games for the game part. I do not care about buying limited collector's editions, figurines, bonus trinkets, special metal cases, whatever. I'm in it for the sheer fun of the pixels man. The vanilla standard edition is just fine. It kind of pisses me off for example that even normal Persona Q came with those stupid tarot cards because I feel like they added the extra $10 to the price.

No one that has a clue about how things are marked up would ever buy these special editions they come out with for these games. The extra stuff is like Loot Crate but 3x more of a rip off.
