I want a DC wheel for Sega GT. That's the one racing game I struggle the most with control-wise.

To save on space if one already has a Playstaion Driving Wheel. The Total Control PS2 controller adapter works well too. For me the driving game for the DC is Crazy Taxi. :D

@ noise - What? You don't have DC Datona yet?!

yeah that's cool, but as a Sega collector I'm much more interested in getting an actual DC branded wheel.

yeah I know!

I have Daytona and CCE on Saturn and the remake on 360, but yeah sadly I haven't stumbled upon the DC port at a decent price in my travels yet. But don't worry, I'll get it soon enough.

Noise, get one off of eBay. I got mine under ten dollars. All this talk wants me to get a steering wheel.

For me, the real trick to fixing Daytona USA 2001's control issues just laid in adjusting them in the options menu. The default control pad options are crazy, but decreasing the sensitivity to a couple notches above the lowest setting results in a nice, smooth experience. I'm surprised by how many people complain about the control of the game -- do most people not know about the setting, or is it still just not good enough after tweaking?

I did once hear that the Japanese version doesn't have this option... I haven't had the opportunity to check this out for myself, though.

Anyway, speaking of Dreamcast gaming, I'm about 90% of the way to a 100% completion of Skies of Arcadia, and managing no-death runs of levels 1-3 of Ikaruga on occasion these days. It had been forever since I'd had time to get sucked into some games, but I'm hooked on these two right now. I'm finally getting around to trying out the English patches of Frame Gride and Advanced War 2001 -- really cool to have new Dreamcast games to play more than a decade later. I really hope we see that Segagaga translation someday...

It helped, but it still wasn't enough for me. Even after turning down the sensitivity everything still felt pretty haphazard.

I just restarted Grandia II, which I haven't played since high school. The battle system is still as fun as I remember.

i can see where you're coming from. in my opinion there's not really a point collecting for dreamcast for this reason other than if you're just a really big fan of the system. i think it's safe to say the majority of critically-acclaimed, popular games have either had ports, updates, or sequels on other systems. emulators can even run most of the games in 16:9. you can find the majority of "system-defining" games somewhere else; most people that will give you shit for saying otherwise will just be big fans of niche titles
