An original pressing!? I love that record.
One of my favorites for sure. It's on black vinyl (i.e. not a RSD release) but it's a repress; it's a double LP, and the original pressing was a single LP. I'm not going to complain though, it sounds amazing.

Need FreeMCboot? I'll install it on your PS2 Memory Card for free if you cover postage both ways.
Consoles: I have too much stuff
Arcade: No seriously, I have too much stuff. Someone grab a shovel and dig me out of my basement.

And been playing it over and over all day at work. So far no one has complained.

So I got myself a turntable now. Ended up going with a used Technics SL-D2 for around $80 shipped. It's direct drive and came with an Audio Technica 8008 cartridge.

The dust cover has some weird gouges on it, but other than that the turntable seems to be in nice shape and seems to be working fine. I have a preamp coming in the mail soon (I could've sworn my receiver had a phono input, but I was wrong), so I'll be able to really try it out then. Can't wait!

Sweet wheel!

Now go buy a slipmat and dust cloth if you don't already own them.

I'll definitely be picking up a dust cloth, but aren't slipmats more of a DJ'ing thing?

Yes and no.

A slipmat will really help keep your LP's in good condition. I would say without hesitation that they're worth every penny, DJ or not.

Oh, and also pick up a few needles while they are still on the market if you don't have spares. They usually last years, but be on the safe side.

Mmm, okay. I'll look into them then.

The Audio Technica 8008's styluses aren't manufactured anymore I think, and aftermarket ones start at around $80 and go up from there. OEM is about $120. Pretty pricey!

I'm looking into other cartridges though.
