Final update for the year:

Key:Red = Completely given up, Black = Intending to finish

Nintendo Land Wii U
Blaster Master Wii VC
Scribblenauts DS
Ultimate Ghosts n' Goblins PSP
Aero Porter 3DS eShop
Animal Crossing: New Leaf 3DS
Shantae 3DS VC
Final Fantasy VII PS1
Kirby's Epic Yarn Wii
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros 3DS *NEW*

Games off the list: Castlevania, Streetpass Mansion
Games on the list: Mario & Luigi

Final update. Castlevania and Streetpass Mansion beaten, Mario & Luigi added (but only because I didn't have the time to play it all the way through yet.

Nintendo Land requires multiplayer to beat. It's just a matter of time.
Blaster Master is a game I need to get back to and try again. I never did get past area 5's boss.

Aero Porter is long and tedious. I'm not sure when I'll ever go back to it. I'm gonna give it another chance though.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf is another long one. I got a bit Animal Crossing'd out, I'll need to get back into it next year.

Shantae I played once then literally never returned to. It's definitely a game I intend to play through next year.

Final Fantasy VII is long and bit dull and I got distracted. Next year I fully intend to get through it.

Kirby's Epic Yarn I'm playing through slowly in co-op with my girlfriend. We'll get it done eventually.

Scribblenauts was just broken - the concept was just too big for a game, most of the time you have to come up with stupid solutions for simple problems because normal ones don't work - a bridge is too small to bridge a river for example. I got rid of it.

Ultimate Ghouls n Ghosts is a game I gave another go after enjoying Super Ghoul n Ghosts. I needn't have bothered, it's a broken, cheap and terrible mess thats overly convoluted and not at all fun to play. I got rid of it too.

I intend to try and beat at least 5 of the 8 games on this years unfinished list next year.

Not sure if I'll be finishing the following:

Lego Marvel Super Heroes - The more and more I play this the more annoyed I become with how sloppy, lazy and half assed the game's design is. This is what now? The 50th Lego game and these designers still can't get their shit together? Sigh. Combat is still garbage, like every Lego game in existence and the boss fights are utter shit. They all follow the same pattern of tons of annoying enemies attacking you incessantly and respawning at an absurd rate while you try and figure out the stupid "puzzle" for beating the boss. Utter garbage. This is bush league game design by no talent hacks.

Knack - I could write a 50 page rant on this game. Okay, I'm exaggerating, but I still would like for the developers to have their balls cut off and their dog run over by a car. Knack is frustrating, uninspired, bland, cheap, and pointless.

I've played some great platformers this year, making the failings of the above games inexcusable

Damn you last level of Bioshock Infinite!

I need to sit down and plan an hour of just going at it until I beat it.

Suck it up, man. It baffles me that you can beat some of the games you do and struggle with Infinite.

Not sure how anyone can expect Luke to beat a game that's............ infinite.

On the topic of games not beaten I was struggling mightily with Ghosts 'n Goblins last night. So I switched to Ghouls 'n Ghosts. When that proved to be too difficult I switched to Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts. Not really sure what I was thinking.

It's mainly because of the wide gaps of time spent when I do/don't play it. I forget what powers to use and when, who to target first, where the new enemies come from. I have no plan of attack since I play it every now and then, but don't dedicate any time to it.

The game was a walk in the park until now, and I'm dumb for not finishing it when I knew what I was doing.

Super Ghouls n Ghosts is way easier than Ghosts n' Goblins for sure. Never played Ghouls n Ghosts, so I can't judge that one.

I actually didn't find Super Ghouls n Ghosts to be all that hard. Thought it was a bit exaggerated tbh.

All three are on Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded, which is nice. I'd like to finish them someday, just need to find some more patience.

We're in 2014, but I started this game in 2013:

Zelda:Link Between Worlds

The baseball mini-game is one of the most poorly designed, cheap, random and infuriating mini-games I have EVER played. It has instilled in me such a strong hatred for this game that I no longer desire to finish it. It's going back on the shelf. The Zelda franchise disappoints me yet again. There was nothing in Link to the Past, the last truly great Zelda game, that was this asinine.
