I found the slapstick to be pretty funny. Specially that chase scene.

Unfortunately i didnt like the movie either.

Everything was flat. The rythm, jokes, story, acting, characters, etc even special effects.
And i saw so many mistakes that James would criticize immediatly if he was reviewing the movie.

I was expecting it to be some adventure with lots of videogames challenges, actual gameplay, but i cant judge the movie for what it isnt. It`s a shame because im an AVGN fan, i still am, but the movie is just not good at all :/

People do realize this. It's just that there are good B movies and bad B movies. An example of a good B movie would be Weird Al's UHF. An example of a bad B movie would be AVGN: The Movie.

It should also be noted that James has made some great short movies that were full of great camp.

My question is: where does he go from here? It's clear he's really tired of this, and as all other (to be fair, lesser) internet celebrities have seen, your internet popularity peaks and then slowly declines as other people replace you and do the same thing better (I'm soooo glad this has brought an end to every internet celebrity wanting his own website to host his content, youtube is a much better tool for that). Has he stated any plans after the AVGN movie? I don't think its' goign to open him any doors since...it's not really that great. (I liked it, but not something that would make me say "I want to hire this guy")

I would say from here he continues to make videos and at worst nothing changes, which is a pretty sweet deal. As far as it opening other doors for him, I'm not in show business but he basically just helmed and completed his own feature length movie. He directed, co-wrote, did special effects, etc. I would say that's a lot of resume material that speaks for itself. Doesn't mean anything will come of it but I would wager it counts for a lot more than a degree in filmmaking, which I believe he has already as well.

The other thing is that AVGN has a huge following on the internet. That is a group of people someone might want to tap into marketing-wise. If nothing else this will create more revenue for his site and his YouTube channel.

By the way I like his site and it's better than YouTube. His videos are organized much better and I can find things much more easily. Spoony's site is much the same. I'd rather go there.

Even though his movie is terrible, he still has quite a resume. He also has 100s of other vidoes where he's shown that he understands the basics of film making. It's also a luxury for him to have a movie that had the budget that he likely had compared to most self funded directors.

If he wants to go into film still (I dont know what he does for a living), he can certainly break in and find a job somewhere.

I remember reading on his site that he was planning on doing short videos for the foreseeable future, likely more AVGN reviews and Mike & James Mondays. He said he wanted to have more time for his daughter and full blown movies took way too much of that time away.

Well yeah recently it became better, but it used to be worse and I still think most of those websites (tgwtg, teamfourstar, normalboots) don't provide any extra benefits to be worth going there instead of youtube. Not to mention their players suck (have they upgraded to html5 or do they still use flash?).
