Correct. It's just been so long since episodes 4-6 were added on that most people have forgotten they weren't there from the beginning.noiseredux wrote:Technically, Wolf3D is just the first 3 episodes (if I'm understanding correctly). Episodes 4-6 were an add-on pack that came with later re-releases.RyaNtheSlayA wrote:I think I'll move on to RTCW after Episode 3, since the game isn't gripping me that much. I'll probably plow through what's left today and tomorrow.

Wait - does the PSN version have a map? I had been going old school and not using it.

If you're playing Wolf3D on the PC, how do you access the other episodes? As far as I can tell, it's just episode 1. Do you have to complete it first?
The iPad version has all 6 episodes.

The shareware PC version only allows you to play the first episode, period. The full version gives you access to all six episodes from the start. Sounds like you have the shareware version.gtmtnbiker wrote:If you're playing Wolf3D on the PC, how do you access the other episodes? As far as I can tell, it's just episode 1. Re: Together Retro: Wolfenstein 3D
I killed Hitler, yay!
I got stuck on e2l6 for the longest time and ended up losing some interest, until today, when I decided to give it a shot. Not only did I beat it, I got so hooked, I ended up going all the way through the rest of episode 2 and the whole ep3.
I probably won't keep playing, though. As much fun as it was, it didn't grab me enough to make me want to try more levels. Overall it was a good experience, and once again I wouldn't have played it if it weren't for TR, but I don't think this game aged all too well. Still, I can imagine how awesome it must have been back then, and it will forever hold a place in gaming history.

Wow, believe it or not the iOS port, on the iPad, is really really fun. I think I'll be playing it this way to play through this month
Re: Together Retro: Wolfenstein 3D
Yup, just played through the first seven levels on the iPad. There's no option to save, which makes it extra nerve-wracking!
Re: Together Retro: Wolfenstein 3D
Episode 1 done. The controls were a bit tricky for the boss, but I managed.

Dave (and other PC snobs), I want you to know that last night I decided I'd at least try playing with KB/M so that I could say that I gave it a shot with the original controls. Unfortunately, no amount of effort could make the muscles in my fingers do what my brain wanted them to do. The whole kb/m thing just doesn't make sense to my mind. I gave it a shot, but I couldn't even beat the first level.

Since I'm playing it with touch controls, I am no longer in a position to give you any shit about no keyboard.noiseredux wrote:Dave (and other PC snobs), I want you to know that last night I decided I'd at least try playing with KB/M so that I could say that I gave it a shot with the original controls. That said, maybe you should add some PC games to your Summer challenge list since you've joined the gamer master race.
