That makes for a very interesting thought Opa Opa. Could the 3ds with slidepad be a secondary Wiiu controller? I am very interested in this concept.Opa Opa wrote:WiiU?boltfanSD wrote:Image

Despite many people's overreactions (including myself), it just looks like a hand grip with some extra buttons. hell, it looks comfortable even.

I'd be inclined to say no.fastbilly1 wrote: Could the 3ds with slidepad be a secondary Wiiu controller? I am very interested in this concept.
The Wii U's controller has no actual processing in it. It streams video from the Wii U console. If the base unit doesn't have the processing power to support more than one of the new controllers, then it'd make little difference if the 3DS could stand in for one.
Otherwise the Wii U is using standard Wii remotes, which communicate with the console over Bluetooth, something the 3DS doesn't have.
I think there's the definite possibility of working in some sort of interoperability between the two consoles, but simply being able to use the 3DS as a Wii U controller I kind of doubt.

But because the 3DS has its own graphics chip in it, surely it could send data to the 3DS before hand (provided it was within the 3DS' capabilities) via the download thing and the 3DS could just send data back and forth the same way as any other game with system connectivity did with DS? I think fastbilly was more thinking of it as a possibility for multiplayer allowing everyone a 2nd screen - kinda like 4 swords or FFCC on gamecube.isiolia wrote:I'd be inclined to say no.fastbilly1 wrote: Could the 3ds with slidepad be a secondary Wiiu controller? I'd be pretty excited if it could be used to play Wii U games in without a 3D television.
Re: 3DS 2nd Slide Pad attachement + Monster Hunter 3G Tri
The system can already do that with 3DS games, as evidenced by Starfox 64 3D, which can support four player dogfights with only one actual cartridge.alienjesus wrote: But because the 3DS has its own graphics chip in it, surely it could send data to the 3DS before hand (provided it was within the 3DS' capabilities) via the download thing and the 3DS could just send data back and forth the same way as any other game with system connectivity did with DS? I'd assume that if there was a compelling reason to make a Wii U game with that sort of connectivity it'd be possible...but I'd count it more as network gaming than the 3DS being a Wii U controller. The real catch, IMO, would be the purpose of including a Wii U in the equation if you're effectively limited to things that'd run on a 3DS.

I'd rather that stick be below the buttons. Seems pretty damn tough to hit those things.AznKhmerBoi wrote:okay so i did a simple photoshop fix for the 3ds right stick.

Looks like the buttons are way too down, or is just me?AznKhmerBoi wrote:okay so i did a simple photoshop fix for the 3ds right stick.

Yep other non-capcom games will use this add-on so the 3Ds Lite XL Plus will have a 2nd stick. It would be interesting to see WiiU games played on the 3DS like some people can control their computer's with a PSP and can "play" with the PSP.
