Good episode, but some of the green screen in this series has been really noticeable. That and I don't like how the Wildling's have become one-dimensional bad guys.

the pacing, cohesiveness, and originality of the plot, the believability of the dialogue, the depth of character development, etc. - these kinds of things vary pretty widely in any medium. Some writers do these things well, some don't.

Have you never taken a literature course?

I think I understand what both of you are saying, besides "Some writers do these things well, some don't". How much of that is a matter of opinion, would you say, dsheinem?
Final Fantasy IX is the best one

It is all a "matter of opinion" but not all opinions are equal.

People who write fiction professionally, for example, are often in a much better position to judge the overall merits of fictional writing than those who merely read fiction. Additionally, critics who study the history and techniques of writing, and who often specialize in genre/period/region/etc., are also better equipped to evaluate the quality of a piece of writing (especially in their area of specialty) than someone who is "just a fan" or some such.

The show is entertaining, the characters are complex, it keeps you on the edge, I do not notice any cheap tricks to keep you watching, not sure if there are cliches, ... I can keep going on. I do not see how its bad writing. I know its not perfect, I did notice in some episode they add fillers just so they have a full 50min episode, but overall I wouldn't call it bad at all.

True Blood is bad writing. Actually, its bad everything.

I didn't notice any until last episode. I feel like up until now, every kill has made sense in a logical, if cold, sense. Sunday's... didn't, I don't think. Sure, he was hubristic and drunk and vengeful, but a fighter of 20 years, the best fighter in Dorne, wouldn't stand next to a guy he's fighting to the death while looking up at the spectators. Suspension of disbelief was shattered for me :(

I wasn't the one who claimed that it was.

I dont think you were paying close enough attention to the character this season or maybe the show glosses over it more compared to the books, but, this was all about revenge. His whole reason for fighting him was to seek revenge for his sister, and get the Mountain to admit what he did to implicate Tywin. He also didnt just want him to die, he wanted him humiliated and to suffer. If he was just being Tyrion's champion and was only trying to win, sure he would've killed him on the spot.

Yeah, as someone who didn't read the books that was all pretty clear.
