Is it okay to dislike it do to it being overrated and poorly written?
not saying I dislike it or anythingFemininity would never prevent me from liking, or cause me to like, a show or cartoon.
Yes, it would be perfectly fine to dislike the show if it didn't have solid writing, fluid animation, and talented voice actors. I would have no objections to that. But you have to watch the show first, before you can judge it credibly.
Exactly. Don't judge the new one solely based on the 80's version. While many girls (and some guys) have a nostalgia for it, it doesn't hold up that well if you go back and watch it as an adult.
The new show actually has writing and animation that appeals to both kids AND adults. Not something you find that often, but this is one of those cases.

THIS. Well said, lwcook. At the very least, it is easy to appreciate this show at a technical level, but it is so much more than that, too. It is good for essentially the same reasons that shows like Adventure Time and Regular Show are good.

Well, the season finale was a total fangasm, and was just plain awesome.

Looking forward to season 2!

I'm taking it the season finale was the one where they went to the Gala? I just saw that about week ago (only my second episode) and it had me laughing pretty good.

The season finale was awesome. Fluttershy by herself made that entire show.

That scene was hilarious.

I guess its the same reason why grown adults watched Lazy Town or Yo Gabba Gabba.

Oh I just knew that there would by an MLP thread, it's so big not a single forum goes without one it seems. I love the show myself, and the season finale was my favorite episode. Favorite pony being Rarity.
(also, hello, this is my first post)

Thanks! No questions so far, I was just checking out the threads, trying to find things appealing to me. None of my friends or into more retro games really, so I figured: internet. This site had great articles and such.
Plus I need something to do while MLP is making season two, because Ponychan is much less appealing now(I'll just say I'm temporarily free.)
Did you hear the news about Lauren Faust?
