The weird part is, my two favorite settings are opposites sci fi and medieval fantasy. My two fav game series are elder scrolls and mass effect. my two favorite movies are lord of the rings and star wars, haha.Xeogred wrote:Despite your post a few pages back about Skyrim?darthmunky wrote:Best game I've ever played. Well to each their own I guess. I'm down for post apocalyptic settings, although the Fallout 3 and NV overworlds could've been quite a bit less -flat- and that would've been great. Then I personally prefer guns and stuff, most medieval settings/lore bore me to tears. But as you're saying the same can be said about sci-fi for other folks.

Does the game use the same ending system from the 3D Fallout games?

No idea; I haven't gotten that far yet. Based on earlier precedent, though, I'd assume not.

The tunnels are actually fairly logical as they're based on the real-life DC Metro system. That you need to (initially) work your way to new areas in DC by navigating them wasn't exactly my favorite part of the game, but within the context of the game they do work. At least you have map travel once you get to different areas, so you don't really need to repeat any of them.Xeogred wrote: Also worth noting I hear people complain about some "train tunnels" in Fallout 3, sounds as boring and repetitive as any random dungeon in Oblivion that felt like the same cave over and over. There was nothing like that in New Vegas.
Personally I liked both of the 3D Fallouts quite a bit, but could never quite seem to get into Oblivion. Still excited to try Skyrim...which should be on my doorstep this evening.

Picked up a copy of Skyrim today. Just going to give it a shot and hope I like it more than Oblivion/Fallout 3

Once you fight several dragons, it starts to get old and from then on, whenever you encounter them, it's really annoying. Just like the oblivion gates were.

So... I'm most likely going to be getting this as my first 360 game by next week. So tell me everyone, what class should my first character be (A or B)?
A: Battlemage - Fire in one hand and a sword in the other, peppering enemies with spells before finishing them off with a crack to the skull. Medium or heavy armor. Will become a werewolf.
B: Rogue - Bows, daggers, swords. Relying on stealth and lock picking to get in, steal everything, and kill everyone. Light or medium armor. Probably will become a vampire.
