Oh yeah, we are so doing that. I have Sundays off, too.

I though you Party Animals were locked from returning there. "Everyone out of the pool."wip3outguy7 wrote:Bumpity.
What would you guys think of a mid December meet?

Great picks! Hey Flake, I have that same Blaze Stick, check out a simple Twinstick mod.

Oh I've definitely seen that guide, CRT. Sadly I am about as tech savvy as your grandma. Definitely outside the realm of my abilities.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

Really, its easy if you can solder or maybe a friend could do it. Its only five wires on big solder pads, easier then a mod chip. Looking at the PCB just match up the buttons and solder wires to a couple switches so you can maintain the two player function. All the Twinstick games then can really be Arcade Twinstick.
Sorry about side track, enjoy the Texas run!

The poll closing is coming up in just a couple of weeks and then we will begin hammering out a solid date.
If you are coming, or if you are thinking about coming, we need to know what your schedules will be like at the beginning of next month. If you are reading this thread and are considering coming, post.

Yall still aiming for the feb/march spring time frame? Just watch out for sxsw. Otherwise, nobody in Austin makes plans until a week ahead of time so my schedule is clear
I have some other local indie game buddies with projects in development that might be interested in showing some stuff too, if you want to do a sort of hybrid Dreamcast/austin indie games event?

That would be pretty cool. I haven't mentioned this meet up to Game Over yet, so a place to meet is up-in-the-air at this point. I would like to hold the event there again as it was an excellent experience. We will start hunting for a location and working out a solid date when the poll is closed at the end of this month.
I'm thinking we will probably settle on a time between mid Jan and mid Feb.
We would also need to work out a solid attendance count to ensure it would be worth your time to bring these projects. I wouldn't want you delivering to a crowd of 6 people. LOL

Thats cool, even 6 people is worth getting the feedback. I'm developing by myself, so there's nobody else to tell me if things are crap/not crap.
If it's only like 6 people, I'll probably just bring the laptop. If there are going to be like 15-20+ people and the venue is alright with it, I was thinking about renting a screen and projector so everyone would be able to see and we could put different games on it during the event.
Honestly getting that many people shouldnt be too hard, there are a few different video game meetups on meetup.com, and I'm an event planner on meetin.org. I've been wanting to do more video game themed meetins, which usually brings about 5-10+ people.
Also I could start a thread on tigsource.com and see if any other austin devs had projects to bring
