I live within a 20 minute walk to two videogame stores, a Game stop, and an Orphaned Media (yes, i know you never heard of them). They sit across the street from eachother. The man running orphaned media is nice, sensible, and i feel bad for him because not only does he have to deal with the x amount of tards trying to sell him a loose space invaders for 5 bucks, he cannot afford to buy any more stock because he has too much money invested in 7th gen consoles (to compete with game stop), and, he has to keep his prices way low to even dream of having a customer besides me buy anything from his store. Ill talk to him for 15 minutes about scams on ebay or why he loses money every month, and Ill go to game stop, full of nasty little children slamming plastic guitar hero controllers on the X-box demo stands, half of the used stock in their own custom cases, and some guy with turrets yelling the word "SKULLS!" at me every time i ask him a question.
Am i a bad person becasue i bought a game at game stop that day instead of the other place?

A couple of weeks ago I stopped in a Gamestop to ask for directions to another game store...

Whaaaaa? ...Don't worry, won't start a rant like I did when that dude at (I think) Play 'n' Trade gave you a funny look over New Super Mario Bros. Wii and later said you were Hardcore for some bullocks.fastbilly1 wrote:I will admit, I do bait them sometimes. But only when they are dicks. I havent been in a Gamestop in over a year though. After I was told I was a casual gamer for buying the Neo Geo Collection on the Wii...
I only go to Game Stop when they have a sale on their used games. Even then, it's a pain in the ass because half of them are in those shitty cases or they're only about $3-$5 less than the new one.

These racks will kill the Retro sells. Good trick, thanks! Maybe I'll leave them sideways for the next gamer.Hobie-wan wrote:I don't like those cases either. It's like they don't want to sell anything from those racks. I dig through them anytime I stop in a Gamestop in a different part of town, but I never see anyone else digging through them. The way I do it though is to simply grab the entire stack of 8, lift it out, and then look at the spines and drop them back in. Much faster than trying ot flip through them, especially when overfull.CRTGAMER wrote: God I hate the new used racks. Have to flip thru cases like the old LP records. Old way stacked like bookends exposed easier to find a title. Must stink for employees during an inventory update. GAMESTOP, GET RID OF THOSE STUPID NEW RETRO RACKS!
Corporate should be forced to try and find the case for that certain game on a busy Saturday afternoon.

The rage continues!
I was in Gamestop Planet X today. Big UPS delivery of used PS2 games in original memory card holder cases with original covers and manuals. Sales associate was busy tossing disc cases and putting all the used PS2 games in yellow envelopes to be displayed in an even more buyer unfriendly cardboard tray.
History being tossed in the garbage, Gamestop killed the Retro!

Just picked up a f'en mint copy of RAD: Robot Alchemic Drive for $4.95 from GameStop yesterday. Much cheaper than I could get it online.
Just sayin'.

Bought mine there too couple weeks ago on JT's good advice. Luckily that Gamestop hadn't destroyed the Disc Boxes yet.the7k wrote:Just picked up a f'en mint copy of RAD: Robot Alchemic Drive for $4.95 from GameStop yesterday. Much cheaper than I could get it online.

Re: Gamestop is evil
I actually took a bunch of their cases that they were going to throw away. Basically, I took anything that didn't have a generic case. Ended up with a bunch of crap like Tony Hawk, but got a few good ones like Maximo, Frequency and a few others.
Sadly, I realized after taking them that I have no use for them. I've been converting all my cases over to thinpak cases to save room on my shelves - the only use I have for PS2 cases is to hold memory cards.
