Use an irc client (like mIRC) if your have issues logging in via the embedded chat.

Took me awhile to connect with my irc client. The server will auto-disconnect you if you don't have a registered username.
The fix:
- Load the irc chat room through the webpage. You'll be able to register your nick through the flash interface.
- Connect with your irc client making sure you are using the correct nick and identify with nickserv.
Works fine after you do that.
