I never liked Sonic, it always felt that it was just boring. I mean, it just felt like you were just going right with a rare jump, but that's it. You just make sure you're in a ball all the time and you kill all the enemies. If there is an enemy with spikes you aren't going to be able to move in time after you realize it just exerted a spike anyway. The only reason I played Sonic was for the interesting/fun bosses.

You rarely ever need to go left in Sonic. Plus in Mario 2/3 you can go left if you want. Some levels in 3 and most levels in 2 make you go to the left...
