I just read quite possibly the most idiotic GameTrailers comment ever posted:
They both look like shit. Art direction is laughable, all the women look like dudes with big meaty nipples. Both versions suffer from horrid amounts of jaggies, only the 360 version has funky ass smeared looking jaggies.

Seriously why do the chicks look like they should have dicks? Yes I understand that Chun li has always had really big thighs, however I do not recall her having man hands and lou Ferigno sized muscles. Nor do I recall her having gigantism of the nipples.

SFIV makes Soul Calibur IV look like a masterpiece.

I just pray to Dog that SNK does not fuck up Samurai Shodown the way Capcom has fucked up SF.

Only die hard SF fanatics can say with a straight face that this abomination looks good and plays good. It's like SFII covered in molasses with Hermaphrodites playing all the roles of the women.

How the Hell can all of you play this game and say it looks good?

*sigh*
In other words:

Image

"zomg so fucking manly I'm puking on myself as I type this! How dare capcom disgrace my beloved virtual girls by giving them so much as an ounce of muscle?! I can totally see cocks and balls flying out of their panties! WHAT THE FUCK CAPCOM!? Why do you do this to me?! I can only whack off to the most frail, pale, and helpless looking girls. It's not like the entire cast of SF2 were drawn to look like the ultimate team of down-syndromes, no sir! I mean, for reals. Just see for yourself!"

Image

"See?! They looked so fucking badass back then! Totally not lameass! Instead, now we're left with absolutely disgusting sacks of meat such as this:"

I've seen far too many people complaining about Cammy's proportions, which I totally don't get.

I've also seen people complaining about how Cammy has NO way to really deal with people who are turtling through a crouch block. Which is more truthful. The only thing she can do aside from chipping is a throw, but the throw frequently gets met with a sweep anyway. And it's harder for her to chip since you really have to range the Spiral Arrow and Spinning Backfist to chip without eating a sweep.

But her alternate outfit is awesome.

Haven't seen her alternate outfit yet. Any pics online of it? I played against someone who had the alt Sakura outfit, which was ill.

On another note, I picked up Sagat over the weekend and have been playing pretty well with him. Despite not playing him in the previous titles. Went on a 11 game ranked match win streak to finally get the achievement. Only to be stopped by a Cammy, damn it.

I also finally completed the Time Trial and Survival modes on Normal. Now it's time for Hard mode. Damn, these things are tedious ... but I want the titles and achievement points.

That might have been me. Did you lose to a last minute spinning backfist into an ultra finisher?

Well now I see why everybody likes it. Isn't that a bit...um...useless for winter gear?

Dude, all the alts are ridiculous. Why complain? The only one I see causing any stink is Fei Long's alt miraculously making him 200% more Bruce Lee.

I didn't realize there were any. I still haven't gotten a chance to play SF4 yet.

Chun Li's alt is basically a Mai ripoff outfit.

I'll freely admit I'm not crazy about the character designs. Their faces are all a little creepy and their bodies and muscles are too angular. That doesn't mean I object to the muscles, but human muscles which are used regularly (not just bodybuilder muscles, which are built and coddled) tend to be pretty lean and efficient and feature more curvature. I don't think the characters are super-ugly or jaggy or anything, but I think they're far from perfect. The characters should all be a little leaner and smoother shape-wise, and when they deliver an attack, or jump, or some related activity then their muscles should bulge hugely. Otherwise the modeling and texturing is pretty good, and in motion it's harder to notice stuff like that than in still shots.

You can see something like this really well watching sumo. I watched a sumo match in person in Japan and regularly on TV. Sumo wrestlers are fat. They saunter up to the line and put their hands down to signal their readiness to start the match (I won't go into the complex mind game of starting the match and initiating combat). When one of them lurches forward into a grab or tries to heft someone, their huge, jiggling thighs suddenly turn steel-cord hard. It's like the fat just melts away. It's really scary because I know the fat doesn't disappear and that some of the jiggling is idle muscle.

But yeah, technology and coding techniques are easily good enough they could have gone that route and I think I would have been a little happier with it.

To be honest with you, I don't remember how I lost. But I remember the kid's gamertag, thanks to my partially photographic memory capturing my moment of defeat. If you want to PM me your XBL gamertag ... I can confirm or deny my loss to you, haha.

Do you think they'll eventually package up all the alt outfits together at a cheaper price in due time?
