Its all in who you know....

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

No matter what your talking about it usually is all in who you know. Good for you on knowing how to get great deals. I stopped going to game stop a long time ago but I might try this tactic since I drive by one every day.

Well, the guy trading it in for next to nothing might be taking those prices because the stuff was hot, never know. Or maybe he didn't have internet access to sell on line. Still, some people are just plain dumb to getting reasonable amounts for their stuff. And/or they just don't want to bother with the small amount of effort it takes to get a reasonable price.

Of course used game stores aren't known for giving huge amounts for trade ins, especially in a cash for goods situation.

I don't know of anywhere that gives a decent amount in cash. Most decent places give half of the price they'd sell it in trade, and 20% of the value in cash. Not much dinero, but trades can work in your favor when you get some decent thrift store bounty.

The problem with that advice is that the "quit it" portion of the process becomes much more complicated after the "hit it" maneuver has been completed. Much easier to "quit it" before all else.

He will pay for it for me and then I go and pick it up the next day and pay him back... he has called me 3 times this week, here is the loot:

1 Sega dreamcast complete with 2 controllers $4
1 Virtual boy Complete with tennis, and Festers funky bowling -$5
1 Sega genesis III complete with 11 games $8
Clayfighter CIB
Space Harrier 2 CIB
Sonic 3 CIB
Fantasia CIB
Toy Story CIB
Maximum Carnage CIB
ECCO CIB
Alladin CIB
Strider CIB
Splatterhouse 2 & 3 CIB

Man, I'm am totally getting sick of hearing all the deals you've been finding, kingdomheights! First all that stuff you found at the yard sales, and then this. You've got me considering moving up to Northern Louisiana after hearing all about the deals you've been finding. (Or at least making a road trip up there one weekend and trying to steal your thunder.)

Thanks for rubbing our noses in it. :P

Nice haul, by the way. :)
