I don't know if I should mention any Nintendo DS games since so many of them seem to be old school in nature, but Castlevania:Order of Ecclesia looks pretty awesome

Space Invaders Extreme/Arkanoid DS (well mainly space invaders, arkanoid isn't that great), for the inclusion of the paddle controller.

Best Game Nominations that I have played:

Castle Crashers
Galaga Legions
Mega Man 9
Metal Slug 7
N+
Raiden IV
Space Invaders Extreme
Subterranean Animism
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
World of Goo

You could destroy the graphics of any game listed here, and the game mechanics could still work on a 16-bit system. MM9 went a step further and busted out the old school credentials first...

If you are looking for a worst game nomination, go with The Monkey King for the Nintendo Wii.

What happened to that game that had Retro in the title... um it was like a weird compilation of retro games that never actually existed? I THINK it was released for DS, but I heard a rumor it was coming to PSP and never saw it.
