New problem. I got the burning program to the point where it says "one audio, one data" and burned the disc.

When I put it in the DC it still doesn't work. Is it because I'm using a CD-RW? Does it have to be a CD-R?

If that's not the problem, is it because I need a different Utopia version? I'm currently trying 1.3

Yes it's CD-RW that's the problem. CD-RW don't work on DCs unless you adjust the pot for the laser. (I highly recommend against this).

Burn it to a CD-R. It will work then.

Burned it to CD-R and when I play the disc from the DC menu it launches the "swirl" logo screen, then boots back to the menu. It keeps doing this whenever I launch the disc.

I tried swapping to an import game but to no effect. Any ideas??

Have you tried burning another game?

Try Ikaruga, it's a very small file size. Most dreamcast iso sites have it. Piratebay.org definitely has it.

Burn that to disc using the same method as above and see if the DC plays it.

Also, what model is your Dreamcast? It should say it underneath the DC. Some dreamcasts manufactured after a certain date have the Mil-CD support (the thing that is exploited and allows the booting of copied games on the DC) removed. This won't allow the DC to boot any copied games at all.

You could also try burning at the slowest speed possible.
