Multiplatforms this generation
Re: Multiplatforms this generation
That one doesn't apply anymore as Tekken 6 is coming out on 360 too - as for MGS4, i'd say it remains exclusive because of the ammount of DVD9 discs needed to contain all of MGS4's HD cutscenes. Microsoft require developers to buy a licence to make 360 games, but if a game requires more than 1 disc the developer has to buy a seperate licence for every disc (this doesn't apply to Microsoft published games, so Lost Odyssey & Blue Dragon escaped the extra charges). Recently iD mentioned that because they were unwilling to pay for an extra licence, the 360 version of Rage would have lower-res enviroment texturing.

Actually this isnt true, there was a "miscommunication". A multi disc game costs more due to higher manfacturing costs not because microsoft is charging license fees per disc. They also statet that it's impossible to put the game on multiple disc because of the story structure. That one doesn't apply anymore as Tekken 6 is coming out on 360 too - as for MGS4, i'd say it remains exclusive because of the ammount of DVD9 discs needed to contain all of MGS4's HD cutscenes.
