It's going to happen for many publications. The Christian Science Monitor is going digital-only next year, the first major newspaper to do so. US News and World Report is doing it as well. More will come. Tech and gaming magazines will go in even great numbers than general interest pubs.
I also used to relish getting my EGMs back in the 16 bit days. Read it cover to cover and I have a decent stack of EGMs and GameFans sitting in my parents' basement to this day. I picked up a subscription again about six years ago and I still like reading the mag. I listen to 1UP podcasts all the time but rarely go their Web site. I'll continue subscribing until they stop printing ....
