People seem to be in denial about it being real on the IGN forums, but after listening to it a few times, I'm pretty sure it wasn't staged. Yeah the static noises are faked, but I'm sure they did that to clean it up in post production.
Greg was pushing him all through the podcast, and Ryan just snapped. With good reason too, Greg pretty much stated out loud that Ryan's opinion in general was no good and that he was a crappy reviewer. I think I'd do the same in Ryan's shoes.

Meh, fake or real. They are still a bunch of tools.fingersmaloy wrote: I submit that faking such a thing as a prank would leave the same impression.

Ok I think that was real. It was building up to that through the entire podcast. The cutoff sound effect was totally cliche, but still, I don't think these guys are professional actors. Seemed real. I'd like to say I'd have done the same thing, but you need to remember that these fuckers have a job where you get to play video games. It's a real job. They get paid to do it. You'd have to be a complete moron to jeopardize your easy job just to smack around some asshole. Save it until after you clock out.

Re: IGN Game Scoop fight
I don't understand all these vehement claims (on the IGN boards) that the whole thing was an obvious hoax. There's no reason for IGN to do something like that, and if it was a hoax, it wasn't really outstanding enough to make any real difference in anything.

I'm listening to episode 98 right now, turns out...
It indeed was a fake. Well, they fooled me.

I dont even believe that. Probably just a way to cover their asses.Flak Beard wrote:I'm listening to episode 98 right now, turns out...

Edit: After listening to their explanation, I definitely dont buy it. I don't see the connection between Halloween and faking a fight. That just doesn't make sense.
