Yes, guitar hero on hard has no fun at all for me, and I play guitar too.Niode wrote:Rock Band FTW!
Guitar Hero just sucks now. When Songs are easier to play on a real guitar (AKA like through the fire and the flames, yes i really can play that in real life.) than playing them on expert that's when the game stops being fun...

for anyone like me that only has a wii, you should be aware that the Wii version of RB2 will not let you import any songs onto system memory/SD cards like the 360/ps3 versions do...this is obviously a pain, and takes away IMO a great deal of RB2's value for those of us who never bought RB1...

I'm still playing Rock band (1 and 2) since day 1 I have had it. Highly recommended

first of all.. none of you are really being fair. As far as I know, GH: WT hasn't even hit shelves yet, so I'd wait to pass judgment.
now on to my opinion. The time my rock band worked i loved it, great game, really fun and addictive... then it all broke. The guitar the drums, everything. The only thing that worked was the mike, which doesn't matter because nobody wants to sing. After knowingly shipping such shoddy equipment with 1 I can't in sound mind buy the sequel.
The other thing is at least world tour is trying. While rock band rests on it's laurels and implements very little new features, none of which are particularly groundbreaking, World tour makes things like a music editor where you can make your own songs. That's pretty nifty to me. ...also their shit doesn't break.
Really though, I'd wait until like 2 weeks to a month after world tour is released to go out and buy one. Who knows what problems may arrive late with all the stuff the games come with?

"On the Wii, Rock Band 2 is everything the first Rock Band should have been. Like the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions, the Wii edition of the title will ship with head-to-head online play, online co-op World Tour mode, and daily downloadable "Battle of the Bands" challenges, and you'll even be able to download all Rock Band 1 DLC." -NintendoWiiFanboyitsamemario wrote:for anyone like me that only has a wii, you should be aware that the Wii version of RB2 will not let you import any songs onto system memory/SD cards like the 360/ps3 versions do...this is obviously a pain, and takes away IMO a great deal of RB2's value for those of us who never bought RB1...
I don't get it, how are they going to handle the RB1 songs on Wii if they are confirmed as coming and it isn't through the SD cards or memory ?
Since the instruments are compatible with each other, it really comes down to songs.AwesomeMonstar wrote:first of all.. none of you are really being fair. As far as I know, GH: WT hasn't even hit shelves yet, so I'd wait to pass judgment.
Rock Band 1 + 2 + their dlc = 500+ songs by the end of the year.
Just going by tracklist, I personally prefer Rock Band songs... BUT.. Guitar Hero's new tracklist definitely doesn't suck, I mean, they got Hendrix now.

Re: Rock Band 2 vs Guitar Hero World Tour
My friends turned me on to Guitar Hero last year. It's extremely addictive. I haven't played Rock Band yet, so I can't really give a fair assessment.
If anyone is interested in winning some Guitar Hero related prizes and free digital music, the marketing company I work for is doing a cool campaign. We developed a widget that allows you to create your own band and develop a fanbase. The band with the most fans will win Guitar Hero console prize packs or two years of digital music worth $730. You can check the widget out at: http://youcastcorp.com/kfc-guitarhero/.

Re: Rock Band 2 vs Guitar Hero World Tour
Ok -- bumping this a bit...
I have GH3 and World Tour now (on the Wii)
Still using the GH3 guitars. What is new on the WT guitars? Is it that important? I've almost completed career on Medium and haven't run into any issues.
If someone was to start out on Guitar Hero , is it worth paying more for a WT guitar? and then what about GH5 instruments?
And.... a friend at work has kids and I was telling her about Band Hero. Does anyone know if the instruments are the same there? Like would it be a safe bet to get a GH:WT bundle and then just get the Band Hero (game only)?
