Yeah, it's never liked my computer. Oh well, need to upgrade anyway. Figure it's some incentive.

So far I haven't had any problems with crashes on Clear Sky, but then again I haven't played it much, due to finally getting the drive to beat several old games. In the meantime, I can let the community mod it into perfection.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s my incentive to upgrade as well. Can't play the game on my 7900GT worth a shit. :P

DO you know if there's a mod for either of the games that pauses the game when you go into your inventory?

Can't say I am aware of it. Most of the mods I've seen for either game have fallen into the catagories of graphics upgrades or changing scripts. For example, you click on an item, it makes the screen dark and advances the game clock 8 hours. I don't know if you can pause the game with the easily modifiable elements of STALKER.

You guys should definitely look up the Oblivion Lost mod for STALKER. Seriously awesome stuff in there.

Oh yes, OL is fantastic. That's one of the reasons I'm waiting on on really digging in to Clear Sky. I'm hoping there will be an OL style mod for it.

Oh yeah I forgot those two. Really looking forward to Left 4 Dead!!

S.T.A.L.K.E.R crashes after a few minutes of gaming for me. Complete total system lock up. It looks like my GPU has forced reset (y'know with the screen going completely scrambled) because of high temps but it never got past 70c! Even with the latest patches I just couldn't get the game to run longer than 10 minutes without crashing the entire PC. (I'm running Vista x64)

For that reason i've been wary of buying Clear Sky purely because of all the fairy tales of bugs galore. So if it's worse than S.T.A.L.K.E.R (that gets really boring to type real fast) then I'm scared as to what will happen to my system!! I've already had to repair a corrupt registry due to the original's system lockups.

So far its awesome.. The story is like if you got the movies Aliens, Event Horizon and put them together. There are a lot of moments where stuff will break though and scare the crap out of you. I suggest playing it in a dark room and the sound turned up to a bearable level, It really adds to the elements of the game. There are 13 chapters and I am about an hour and 45 minutes in to the game at Chapter 3 and I am hooked.

Its worth a play in my opinion.

But don't take my word for it.... [Reading Rainbow]
