As for teens / comming of age / young hero stories in j-rpg's - it's a well known fact that games featuring those themes will sell well (at least in Japan), becasue, well people like to play them (or at least think they like them) and game companies always want to play it safe. Who cares if that story was told million times before, that doesn't matter - what matters is the fact that you can't go wrong with them. Blame square/enix for all that

Kiddy character in S&P2? I do not really care, right now I want to know some more details about storyline and why he's there. But we can make a safe bet that S&P2 won't be another j-rpg
