I didn't watch it, cause i am not voting for either of these jackasses. Ron Paul will be my write in candidate. he is the only politician i have seen that has a brain.

Just curious - why?racketboy wrote:Just a warning: Any heavy debating and this thread is closed.
Debating is healthy. Even online debating - which can indeed devolve into name-calling and posturing - can be a fruitful place for people to articulate their positions, ask questions, etc. I think the people on these forums, by in large, are mature enough to police themselves and one another. It certainly keeps fanboy wars from taking off.
I guess I am just angered by apathy, and even more by people who are "anti-politics" - political decision making, like it or not, effects many things in your life and the lives of others. Not caring at all or giving up on the current version of political discourse in this country (which is generally horrible) is just not a responsible position.
Could you just sticky a political discussion thread and leave it at that? People not interested certainly don't have to read the thread.

If MegaMan was a candidate he would have kicked ass.
Re: Who won tonights Presidential Debate? 9/26
After each debate or race that Megaman won he would have a new power... what would he have by now?
Seriously though, Ack was only trying to preserve the friendliness of the board... If someone wants to discuss heavy politics (and not just reiterate that Obama is smarter or McCain is more experienced), why do it here? The whole reason I know that people get angry and stupid about politics right now, amongst nationals and foreigners, is because of other boards I see where people speculate about politicians- and that's what a debate discussion would do.

I am not anti politics, i am anti-politician. they are all a bunch of shady bastards that are out to fuck you. it doesn't matter which one you vote for. i am not looking forward to the next 4-8 years. the last 20 have been depressing enough.

I WON THE DEBATE!
Vote LordOfDuct this November... why? Because voting day is my birthday!

Re: Who won tonights Presidential Debate? 9/26
I've already made my decision as to who I'm planning on voting for, so a debate really isn't going to help. I'm not necessarily thrilled with either candidate, but I do have a strong preference in one direction.
Like it or not, I have seen political discussion on this board go haywire, or simply appear out of the blue in derogatory or ludicrous remarks that have resulted in people getting banned from these forums. While I actively follow politics, I choose not to do so here because I realize that my views aren't always appreciated(or even accepted). I read other blogs that discuss the information I want to discuss. For me, Racketboy's site is here to talk games, and the Whatever section is all about alternate media, personal life, and all that. Sure, it's a great area. But I don't like the discussions that can lead to arguments so easily.
Look, I've had some hateful stuff said to me over the years. I'd prefer not to have to hear any from any of you guys, ok?
