Getting rid of sticky residue

Re: Getting rid of sticky residue
Goo Gone is good, but in some cases I've had to use a stronger solvent like Bestine, which is a rubber cement thinner, to get off stubborn residue. It can take off marker really well, but as with most solvents, including alcohol, avoid the labels or it will remove color.
Baslically heres what i'd do step by step, I've made absolutely sticker covered marker labeled games look near mint.
1) Clean with soapy water, paper towels and q-tips. I recoment plain ol' unscented Soft Soap. Dip the paper towels in and wring them out then wipe down. This is generally the most you want to do to the labels or you risk removing color. This will help weaken your stickers and clean off any excess dirt.
2) Soak any stickers with either of these and let sit for a few seconds and carefully peel off. Use rubbing alcohol or goo-gone to clean any dirt, marker or sticker residue not removed by the soap. Also clean the contacts thoroughly at this point with q-tips and alcohol, or ceramic stove cleaner(that one was recomended by several NES collectors). After done wipe clean with a paper towel and some of the soapy water to remove any solvent you missed.
3) In an emergency use a solvent like bestine to remove any extremely stubbon adhesive or maker stains. avoid the label at all costs. Again wipe clean at the end.
Hope that helps that's just my method.
