Playing now with a friend. This is pretty damn cool. Music is excellent. Feels right. Challenging. Good stuff!

Thanks, it seems I have been missing out by not playing the NES version.

You most definitely have! The arcade version is WEAK. It's visuals are alright, but the NES version is far superior in gameplay. The simple change in default bionic arm movement when standing still (diagonal on NES versus horizontal in arcade) makes it superior even if nothing else had changed. Rearmed is based solely on the NES version, as you probably know by now.

I just finished it and I gotta say, as probably my favorite NES title, GRIN did a fantastic job. A great homage with plenty of fan service. If they hadn't nailed the swinging mechanic, it would have been a failure. They not only did, but somehow improved it!

P.S. I noticed one technical issue in the game. If you have a 360, please confirm this for me, and if you have the PS3 version, let me know if it exists, please. The issue is in Area 00. When on ground level, walking left to right or vice versa, a horizontal 'scan line' appears on screen and scrolls down - but only when you are moving. It stops when you stop. Obvioiusly, this would be incredibly annyoing had it occurred throughout the game, but I've finished the game and it does not happen on any other level.

Ahh, geez. I've been on holiday for one day, and I haven't even had a chance to buy the full game...while you have beaten it! I just tried the NES version for a bit and I must agree it is vastly superior to the arcade (I can't believe I said that).

I'll let you know about the Area 00 glitch...when I eventually make it there. Or is that what the first level is called?...I don't know. Maybe I should shut up and play the f-ing game.

Yes, it is the first level that your helicopter is on when you start. It is an optional training level.

Yes, I see the glitch. A descending horizontal line as you move in the training level. Is it possible that it's intentional, like are there any well-known small graphic glitches like this in the NES version? Ha, I guess that would be crazy.

I'm glad to hear it doesn't exist in the rest of the game!

No, just great Engrish! Most of which is referenced in Rearmed.
