MORE Saturn mod chip woes :(

Post by EllertMichael »

Just installed my mod chip today and ran into a few problems..

right away the install worked but there was a noticeable degradation in video quality. it looks as if there are fuzzy lines continually running diagonally across the screen. this is very apparent when the screen is black.
i removed the chip, cleaned the connections and reattached it and ran into the problem of the disc not being read at all.
then i reattached the red power wire and was back where i started. backups boot fine but with poor video quality
when the saturn wouldn't boot the disc the picture was fine, now that is boots backups it looks blurry again which leads me to believe it's a problem with the ribbon or the chip

anyone have a fix or have encountered the same problem??
Thanks!

In all honesty I have never gotten one of these to work right. I have used 3 on 3 different model 2 saturns. I had a successful time with some UK chip. It was big and bulky, produced it's own signal, and had only one wire (5v) which needed no soldering. I can't find the site anymore tho. And plus, people other than me get these to work. I guess I get frustrated too easily. Don't give up! It's worth it!

Maybe the chip was just creating some extra RF interference. Glad its sorted though.
