EXCITE TRUCK!!!

Post by NathanBarnatt »

Excite Truck!!!!!! I have had about 20 Wii games. All the "hit" titles too. And I trade them back almost right away. Except for Excite Truck. That game is SOOOO much fun! The best Wii game I've played.

If you can get a Nyko gun shell, then go with The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return and Ghost Squad. That is, if you like Light Gun games... Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles wouldn't be a bad choice either.

And anyway, every else worth buying has already been mentioned.

Hmm… what to add?

Well, an underrated (and probably cheap) is Blast Works. It’s a fun side scrolling shooter where you stick fallen enemy ships to your ship to give you more fire power (after awhile you ship will look like a giant Katamari ball thing), and has a very indepth creation section, making ships and levels. Check it out! Here’s a review for it on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pb1Y2xxGmKM

There’s plenty of games coming out in the near future, such as Wario Land: Shake Dimension, the Sam & Max Season 1 port, Mad World, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Little King’s Story (oddball cross between Pikmin, Sim City, and Harvest Moon), Pikmin 3, Oboro Muramasa Youtouden (upcoming 2D action game from the guys who made Odin Sphere, AMAZING 2D graphics). Some vids of those:

Sam & Max: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6nbbmI5C_s
Mad World: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2MYPmbgrI0 (not for the feint of heart)
Little King’s Story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qb955wrFJp4
Oboro: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEKXImWQOmg

Also don’t forget about Wii Ware! There’s some great games on there such as the remake of Toki Tori (a fun puzzle/plat former), Lost Winds (great 2D plat former), Dr. Mario Rx, plus some great games are on the way like the revamped World of Goo, Mega Man 9, and the Strong Bad game. Again, some vids:

Lost Winds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAdSdZV28Ck
Dr. Mario Rx: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GozWtxj2-CM
World of Goo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o30HZquEnuw
Mega Man 9: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YIis8GbgwM
Strong Bad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MpxstzZrpw

Sorry for being so htttp intensive.
I wanted to be a Teminator but they require you have an armored hyperalloy skeleton and mine's mostly recycled truck tires.

I've found plenty of fun 1 player games on the Wii, this myth that it has nothing but mini-game collections is exactly that.

So far I own:

Excite Truck
Endless Ocean
Eledees
Geometry Wars Galaxies
Ghost Squad
House of the Dead 2 + 3 Return
Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
NiGHTS Journey of Dreams
No More Heroes
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Paper Mario
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz
Wario Ware Smooth Moves
Wii Play
Wii Fit
Wii Sports
Zack and Wiki

Out of all of them I feel only Wii Play (which is only a fiver anyway) and Mario & Sonic Olympics are the only two that are not that much fun on your own.

Isn't it kind of sad that one of the few Wii games to use the motion stuff intuitively is already on clearance? :(

I like it. The designers added some variety by throwing in different challenges, most of whicg are fun althougth some are a bit drab but they are mostly pretty short anyway. The main flying stages are different in that to unlock nights you have to chase and catch some giant bird, which is fine but sometimes I'm just left wanting a good old link attack.

* Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition
* Super Smash Bros Brawl, which TOTALLY worth the price

Those are the only Wii games I have that I would really recommend. I also have Counter Force (hate it), Super Paper Mario (good but I just gotta know why Nintendo refuses to do a REAL 3D Mario game, where he DOESN'T kick, use gadgets, hop along planets, etc. I basically just want something that is basically the 3D version of the REAL Super Mario games, like SMB 1-3 and Super Mario World), Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (recommended only if you are a Harry Potter fan).

I would love to recommend a lot of the other games recommended, but I hardly ever buy new games for the Wii or the 360, mostly cuz I don't get to go up to Nags Head as much anymore. First it was because of gas prices, but now it's because my parents don't have a real car (they use my grandma's car, which could, in my parents' opinion, not even get past Salvo). And I don't have a license yet, and since the DMV bus, which comes by the third Wednesday and Thursday of the month, is my best option but is STILL 20 minutes away by car. And going to the DMV is roughly an hour away. Yeah, life in a coastal resort area is a real bitch.
