I used to have an old 360CSE from 1994. I never could get it to work.
The coolest thing I've bought at a flea market.

I'm posting this from my first ever PC. It's an old IBM aptiva
400mhz amd k6 cpu
3dfx voodoo 3
6gb hdd
I was throwing it together today as a spare just incase my main machine craps out when I saw this thread. Hmm, funny timing.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.
Those specs bring back so many memories of high schoolDroid party wrote:I'm posting this from my first ever PC. It's an old IBM aptiva

I had a Hitachi from about 95, but it was involved in a horrendous accident involving some blankets haphazardly being laid on it while it was on for a few hours...in the process, the case decided to melt, so the screen became loose on one side. I figured the thing was a fire hazard at that point so I quit using it.

I didn't really want to make a totally new topic since this one was still around. Something's wrong with it. I think it's the LCD inverter, because the brightness on the screen is acting very strange, and I understand the inverter controlls the brightness. I've been helping my dad redo the back yard so I should soon have the money to buy a replacement off ebay.
I love the thing, but it has me under pressure. Once I replace the inverter, I'll have invested $40 into it. If I want to get a larger hard drive, it will drive the cost even higher. As much as I love the machine, I think I might have to get rid of it.
After I get it fixed, a might post it on ebay. If I do, I'll give you guys the link.

Re: The coolest thing I've bought at a flea market.
It died on me this morning. I took it to school so I could finish writing an essay I needed to write, and while I was on the bus, I realized the battery wasn't working. A short time later at school I fired it up on wall power and was only a few sentances from finishing the paper when I had to move to the library. I saved to a floppy and left, unaware that that save would be the last thing it would ever do. At the library I plugged it in, flipped the power switch, and there were a few lights from the led array over the keyboard, the fan kicked on, there was a pop, and everything went dark. I tried desperately to get it to turn on, but nothing except for a hint of smoke. It died on me right there in the library.
Rest in peace IBM 380, 2000-2009.
