You know, that's what I was thinking. Why not make it a little more detailed instead of reaching ALL the way back?

Let's not go overboard with the Capcom love. I can think of just as many reasons to hate them as I can to love them.

I have to admit this does sound cool though, but I'm betting they STILL won't connect the Mega Man storyline with the Mega Man X one. Not that I really care at this point as the story has gotten so ridiculous anyway, but I know a lot of fans will be disappointed.

Honestly, if it's just more of the same gameplay we got from EIGHT Megaman games, it's really nothing to get all worked up about. Here I thought we were getting a REAL Mega Man sequel, and it's just another 8 bit clone

Honestly guys, what are we getting all excited about? I mean, if they aren't even going to AT LEAST give us 16-bit quality graphics then this game won't even be worth the download.

The 8-bit MegaMan games were arguably the best in the original series. The graphics have a certain nostalgic charm to them, and I would prefer the gameplay match 1-6 rather than the slower, bulkier feel of 7, or the rubbery/cutsey look and feel of 8. I understand this is not everyone's first choice, but this is MegaMan perfection for me. Also, they already said that this will not connect to the X series, as they want to make a few more if this one sells well. That is fine with me, if they make a couple more in this style and connect it with the last one, then that should suit everyone.

Who's complaining when it probably won't even cost more than $10. I'm stoked, but I have been playing these since the late 80's when the series first started. I suppose I am biased, at least I admit it.

I worry the music wont match the standards that 1-6 met. 1-6 put out some of the best music the NES ever offered. No, I'm not talking about quality, I'm talking composition. Capcom hasn't really wowed me with any Megaman music in recent years. Speaking musically, MMZero started strong, but each sequel became more and more generic. Megaman Battle Network was pretty catchy now and then, but immediately fell flat in the countless sequels to come. Megaman Network Transmission was probably the best offering post-2000, but even that game's musical peaks were just remixes of NES tunes, like Pharaoh Man.

MegaMan Battle Network series and MegaMan Z series just weren't that great in my opinion. Great for what they were, sure, but nowhere near as fun as the original MegaMan or MegaMan X series'. MegaMan 1-8 and MegaMan & Bass, MegaMan X1-X6 were the best "MegaMan" titles ever for me. The fact that there will be a MegaMan 9 is like a dream come true. Everything else pales in comparison to those as far as I am concerned.
