Anyone shifted or added a genre recently?
I went back to shmups. I was always into action/adventure games and rpgs, but now I just don't have time. My friends and I used to play shmups especailly Super R-Type and Einhander and compete but I stopped playing them after jr. high or so. I've collected rpgs forever, but I never play them anymore! So I started collecting shmups a couple years back and that about all I play anymore. I'll throw in another game now and then, but there is nothing better them popping in a shmup and blasting the crap out of the galaxy for 30 minutes and then going on with your day.
I'll play games from most genres although I guess I've abandoned RPG's just lately because I dont have the time to dedicate to them and I've recently added 2D fighters after I bought a Saturn Hori Stick on a whim. I disregarded all the 2D fighters after Virtua Fighter came out because like most people at that time I thought that 2D had had its day and I wanted polygons but I see now that they are much more enjoyable
