favorite SNES emulator
Ok, this is interesting. I noticed tome sound issues with Chrono Trigger through ZSNES. Trying it out now but it wont load any roms. Says could not load image.
Try comparing the sound in the Konami games and early Nintendo-made SNES games. They sound much closer to the actual hardware IMO.
Has anyone else noticed this and fixed it by using a different emu?

Yeah, that's one of the examples I'm talking about. The rain at the begining of Zelda 3, any sound effects in SNES Konami games, and many more. It may not be console perfect, but it's a lot closer than the "big guys" are IMO.nateup2 wrote:Ok, this is interesting. I noticed tome sound issues with Chrono Trigger through ZSNES. Supposedly all you have to do is download the unziplib file, place it in the main directory, and it should work. If not, just try running a ROM unzipped.Mozgus wrote:I cant find it.D.D.D. wrote:SNESGT I believe doesn't support zip files unless you place the unziplib file in there but I have my stuff unzipped anyways.Mozgus wrote:Never heard of ZSNESGT. What a landslide! I voted Snes9x, but I keep ZSnes on hand incase a game runs better on it.

I like ZSNES, but I get annoyed that it does not save... save meaning the way the cartridge would - just save states.

Re: favorite SNES emulator
I prefer Snes9x. The GUI of Zsnes has never been appealing to me, and because the fact that snes9x is easier to port to other platforms, I use it a lot on my PSP, DS, etc.
Re: favorite SNES emulator
I use a iMac and Snes9x runs quite well on Leopard, but I can't get a controller to work. So I use it just to check stuff out. I'm trying out Bsnes and my controller works, but I'm getting some wierd pixels popping up here and there on roms that work fine on snes9x. I think I just need to optimize it because my iMac meets all the specs. And being able to play through Far East of Eden and Terrinigma without problems is appealing to me. So for now is snes9x, but it'll probably change to Bsnes once I get the bugs worked out.
Re: favorite SNES emulator
Forgot to mention I use Snes9x on my PSP, another reason to like it. Its great having your entire SNES collection on the go with you! I also have NES and Genesis emulators for it too.
Snes9x for PSP is quite as good as its PC version just yet. Some games don't run that great, maybe because of PSP hardware, but I believe it'll be able to run almost all games perfectly, on day. Donkey Kong Country runs really slow, Kirby Super Star as well, and a few other games I tested.
