but if you look at a genuine cart, its contacts are sanded down and rounded, but if you look at the gameshark cart it is very sharp and possible thicker which ruins the cheap saturn cartridge slot.
I'm looking at one of mine and they are fairly rounded edges. Not very round, but definitely not sharp.
yeah, sounds like your racketboy is about the same as a action replay which i personally dont mind, but gameshark and several others are sharp enough to cut cheese.

the closest ive ever seen the size and shape of the contacts to the genuine Sega Saturn memory cart is the ST-Key, which is available in a 1 meg and a 1/4 switch model (never seen one with built in memory)

i would stay away 100% from gameshark, and Intec Memory Card (plus edition as well) they can definitely decrease the life of your saturn cartridge slot, best bet is once you stick it in leave it there forever.

i just double checked and the contacts on the Intec memory card plus and the gameshark do also appear to be thicker which will stretch out those cheap saturn cartridge terminals (no i dont use them for personal use, i just have them cause i buy collections)

Yeah, that's why I don't use 3rd party carts. They all end in a explosion. Just hope you're not using it when it happens.
Then you have had some wicked bad luck my good chum. The Saturn AR which I've had for over a decade is still working fine and dandy. :D

I have a gameshark in my Saturn (For playing imports) and it works fine. I just don't take it out at all. It does have sharp connectors though, that much is true.

The only cart I know of that causes problems with the SS is the Game Shark cart. I've experienced the problem first hand, as I was using it to play imports. The PCB on the cart is too think and it presses the pins too far out. If you use it once or twice you probably wont notice, but it you use it all the time, or leave it in the system for months like I did, the slot will eventually not be able to read the cart because the pins aren't making contact with the PCB.

Mine, isn't too bad. Every once in a while it wont load my save cart and it'll take a while to get it working. Some times, something weird happens and one of my save files gets corrupt! Pain in the A$$.

I've even thought about getting another Saturn system, but people don't know what they're talking about when they list it on eBay as "tested, works! perfectly" Wow, you pressed the power button and the light came on, every thing must work fine!
