My little mazda doesn't get the mileage I would like. My next car will either be a corolla or perhaps a diesel VW.

Gas here is around $3.60 gallon. It's ridiculous because oil companies are making huge profits and gee I wonder why?

I've got a brand new Nisan Versa with a CVT transmission and with it's puny 13 gallon tank it still lasts me a over week. I love my car and it really saves me money on gas even though the payments are more than my Subaru was.

The real stinker is when you go out of town for a weekend it ends up costing you more in gas than anything else.

I don't live far from work, but there are times that I drive like an hour away where I live. And sometimes I use the Highway because of where my friends are. I usealy but $40 in my tank, I might go up to $50 next time.

Mozgus what do you do all day if you dont have a job? I am not trying to be insulting, I am truly curious. I was unemployed for a month and a half last year and after the second week I was starting to get really antsy.

I yeah I remember back when people said they would stop driving once it hit $3. Then it was with $4.
I see a few more scooters now, but I'm still amazed how many SUVs are around.
I love my Corolla.

I still remember when I saw a guy in a Hummer filling up when gas hit $2/gal a few years ago; it was over $100 then. I really wonder why people have the need/desire to drive things that big. Seriously, most of the time you see SUVs SAVs etc, you only see one person inside.
My Z3 3.0 didn't exactly get the best milage but at least if I drove the speed limit and didn't accelerate hard, I could get over 300 on a tank.

This whole recession and gas price increase only hurt the poor and not the rich. If those rich people can afford those luxury car and SUV, then I am pretty sure money for gas is really nothing much for them.

As for me, I don't go and work out as often anymore. I also don't go out that much for that matters. Just staying home most of the time these days.

I walk to work, and have a scooter that gets 100MPG to get further than that, if I need to. It's nice living in a pretty close-knit area.

Well here the public transportation sucks BIG TIME!!!!!!. So you are obligated to have a car you imagine the trafic :( .
I put $40 on my 99 sentra and it last me 4 or 5 days so its like $80 a week and $320 a month....
So yeah its hurting my wallet

Why Diesel? That stuff has skyrocketed more than gasoline.

at one point diesel was much cheaper than everything but it also burns clearner and it gets way better gas mileage as long as your not driving say...an 18 wheeler.
Currently im paying over 4$ a gallon for gas. Have to you high oct fuel and i get ABOUT 17mpg?

The japan people make really nice cars we never get...so alot of us JDM fans import the engines and drop them in there USA market cars...IE

my 1990 240sx has the heart of an s13 silvia...everytime you hear the turbo spool or the BOV go off...you can almost SEE the gas gauge drop lol
Yep, I know im the one ya love to hate.
