Does anyone else name their consoles?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I might take some abuse for this as well but I might as well be honest. To me I consider the Genesis kind of a representation of all the hard work that I have put in over the course of the last 10 years.

I've never really lived my life for me. I always did what was expected of me. In high school got good grades and was captain of the football team. Worked my way through college while staying on the dean's list. Good job straight out of college there were good times throughout these years certainly but for the most part I wasn't enjoying my life.

So about four months ago when I bought the Genesis it was a real turning point in my life. I finally started doing what I wanted to do not what everyone else thought I should do. I opened up a little eBay business and have never been happier.

The funny thing is I thought all my friends and family would think I was "crazy" for leaving my job and starting up the eBay thing, but so far they've all thought it was great. I've had a number of my good friends even start getting back into retrogaming along with me. I'm the happiest I've ever been and I consider "Jenny" the Genesis a representation of all of this.

I've said what I have to say let the hazing begin.

Good for you but it's still no reason to name a console. Has opening an ebay business not shown you how common and worthless these are? If you called your Genesis a genny it would be acceptable since it's just like a nickname or something for the consoles actual name but giving it a similar chick name is creepy. Those of us who see it that way probably wont think differently despite your story. At any point of your life you could have bought a Genesis as long as you had 20 bucks. You chose to live how you did.

Well I've never named any of my consoles but if I had to name my 360 I'd call it Ringo Redd. :D

Never even thought of it in a positive way.
Back when I worked retail, when we were stocking games, I used Gaypubes, Piss2, and XBarf. Yeah, real creative I know but you do what you gotta do to get through the end of the night and make it on over to In'n'Out for a last call order.

Actually i know how frustrating it is not to live life like you want i tried the whole college thing getting good grades in the hopes of getting a lucrative job but in the end i felt i wasnt really accomplishing what i wanted to do so i eventually quit and i moved to a different town mind you it isnt really that far just an half hour drive away from where i lived but its far enough so i can finally live life as i see fit :D
