Selling old PCs, what to do about the OS?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I'd just do a reinstall with your corporate disc, and put a sign on the PCs noting that the win xp license is for demonstration purposes only, and they will need to use their own legit copy of windows. That way, you've warned them.

I like the other option of marurun though too. Just donate em and take a tax deduction. Saves time on the reinstalls - since you can just format them and then donate, and leave the win xp license up to the school.

Well I was digging through a bunch of old discs and a copy of Win 98 & Win2000 turned up. Guess I'm going to go that route with the re-installs. I'll just install the same OS on each system that they came with. None of them were originally XP machines as far as I know.

Thanks for the tips on donating/recycling. I think whatever I don't sell at the garage sale, I'll do this with.

Yes, a fairly easy Linux like the already-mentioned Ubuntu, or Fedora.
