I can't remember how many levels there are, it's either 13 or 17? It's been a while since I was playing it seriously but I think managed 2 no-miss runs before giving it up. Pretty much anybody who does a run without dying will have the same score (just under 800000 I think), except that you can actually increase your score by being as close to or even above the boss; you gain points by how many bullets you create and if you are at the top of the screen many of those will miss the boss and you can continue to milk the boss a little bit.
