acutally it does sense on and everything in between. Try playing daxter, you can go from stop, walk, fast walk, and run.

Not on mine you can't as soon as I put the tiniest pressure on the thing it moves all the way to full. I can make it move in little increments but I have to really concentrate to do it. What's the point? If a game requires analogue control I just won't play it. It's impossible.

eh mabe you got a faulty unit. Anyway, other than in racing sims, i hardly ever use a analog stick in small increments. But, im glad they put it in, also why do people complain about FPS's on PSP, just change it to look with the analog nub and it works fine.

Best handheld for FPS is the DS now. Metroid is awesome on it. It's just a shame that nobody seems to want to develop them...

The touchscreen is the closest we've got to have keyboard and mouse controls on a console without using a keyboard and mouse if that makes sense hehe.

it does, but i prefer the console controllers over any keyboard and mice (and i was and still am more of a pc gamer) unless im playing an RTS where you need lightning fast reflexes to go with the fast decision making.

People are such sucker for looks over practicality, in video games or in the real world. I am guilty of it as well.

I'm afraid thats not true. I was just playing Hot Shots Golf 4 on PS2 and most definitely, the pressure you use on the d-pad is tracked when panning the camera. Its a bit surprising, yes, because most games don't make use of it. I think it would be perfect on the PSP though.

Buttons, not the d-pad, are pressure sensitive on a PS2 controller my good chum~

Since you've owned both I've got a sound question for you. I use the original PSP a lot for music, but it really doesn't put out much sound, especially compared to other MP3 players. I'll hook it up to external speakers and its just kind of pitiful. Is this sound output on the slim any more than on the fat?
Always thinks they are gonna fix the volumen on the next firmware release or that M33 will do that. Hate the low volume needs two more bars at least, you now it can output highter volume just try killzone or god of war. That's that. Play a lot on PSP and want to get a slim because I think the weight will benefit my general use be it watching videos, listening to music and gaming. Seen and used a friends slim a little while see no other mayor 0differences, but don't like the finish on the back of the unit. For the analog stick suggest to get a replacement (I'll try to post a link tomorrow to the pack I bought).

After playing through hours of games and specially monster hunter my thumb always hurt and know it has improved a lot but not completely. Also can say the d-pad is awful for playing fighting games but after a year or so it got a little better but can't get the same level of play than on a regular pad. Everything else is just perfect, first time to buy a console same year it's released and best investment ever.
