One does not pay $150 for one's games.

I looked into buying a physical copy, the pre release price was 35 dollars which was worth it, but then I read I had to wait months after its release to get a copy. Really dumb and definitely not worth it.

The Ars Technica review discusses the music. The reviewer wasn't initially a fan, but realized that, in the background, it was doing exactly what it needed to do, and quite well (at least for him). His analysis was that the music, rather than aping the original style, is attempting to accomplish the same end: "That's when I recognized what Lizardcube was doing: moving forward with its own imaginative approach to "forward-thinking" club music in a game."

Basically, in that reviewers opinion, Lizardcube was capturing the spirit of the music rather than taking a snapshot of that moment in game music. I haven't heard enough to know if I agree, but I admit that that analysis does have me very curious as to whether I will share that opinion.

I do want it, the statue alone is enough to sell me. And honestly I would buy it if it were just available for preorder. No problem. But I'm just not willing to fight the Limited Run hordes in the hopes of getting it. It'll be sold out in the first 3 seconds and it's not worth the bother.

I did preorder the collector version that comes with a Genesis case though.

Just finished the story mode, absolutely loved it, I wrote more in the reviews thread but for anyone on the fence, just go ahead and buy it, it is a great game.

Have the basic edition physical from Limited Run. Really happy to see it's getting amazing reviews. I've posted in the other threads for the game, perhaps Random Thoughts thread?

But wow, looks like there's a lot of content, nods, humor, and cool references to the past games. I've been really pleased with Lizardcube / DOTEMU in the past, they make a quality product.

Just need to wait til the physical edition comes out!
