Good Question, Tanooki.

Let's take a look at opening hours.
  • •Toys R Us opens at 9am in most locations.
  • •Target Opens at 8am in most locations, but some open at 7am.
  • •Gamestop opens at 10am.
  • •Best Buy opens at 10am.
  • •Walmart is open 24 hours. I'm not sure what time they will start selling the SNES classic. Supposedly it's 6am, but I don't know if that's legit, or if that's just something you hear on the internet. This likely comes down to local management to decide how closely they will abide by the rule (if it even is a rule).
Based on this, I may suggest a strategy of going to Walmart at midnight, Walmart again at 6am, Target at 7am or 8am depending on local hours, Toys R Us at 9am, and Best Buy at 10am. If you follow that order, then you should increase your chances of procuring one or more SNES classics.

On the other hand, if Reggie Fils-Aimé is right about increasing the stock to meet demand, then all this may not be necessary. Time will tell.

^^Mas was saying he bugged a dude at walmart who said they already had them. He tried to get an answer starting at 50, then shrugged off tried 100 and the dude just smiled with a finger pointing upwards. If that's indicative of both the truth and quantities, it may not be a hellish nightmare to get one in person.

My local meijer guy said he was working that evening, and if his nazi of a DM or one of some managers wasn't shifted he was not going to make people line up and suffer and do a lottery of numbers for what they got sometime Thursday afternoon (told me to call him then.) That store is 24/7 too like Walmart. I may attempt that, then roll to TRU or BB early morning Friday go from that. I just want one, I don't need it day one, but to evade potential still scalper douchery I'll take some steps.

You're right about openings, but as people line up those slots get gobbled so jumping from one to another an hour or two before opening seems like you could blow chances potentially being later in the pack.
