Yeah, at this point, I wish I'd gotten the NES Classic, and I'm definitely thinking about the SNES version. Bet it's not going to be as hackable, either.

Never say never, someone will do it.

I wouldn't want to myself, since part of the appeal is owning an official product. There are better, cheaper ways to play pirated ROMs.

Very true, although I love to hack my stuff anyway. :)

Dammit, I wouldn't have got this thing if it wasn't the only way to legitimately own star fox 2...

Yeah, pretty much. I passed on the NES Classic because I owned most of the games, and I literally own everything except Star Fox 2 this time... but the novelty is something else, which means I was tempted on the NES, and I'm tempted now. Time will tell whether I actually buy one!

I know I should probably be really happy, but I'm not, and instead I'm annoyed, a little upset, and a sense of dread.

Why? Bait (Starfox 2)

Bait for whom? Scalpers

And then all us normal fishes who can't sleep on concrete on a work night or can't run a bot to slam amazon, etc to death to jam up the site and still get a unit or a stack of them to filp will rightly be fucked unless Nintendo worked out their supply problems and once and finally learned their lesson.

I have the so called non-final hacked onto a cart by a friend in VA for me from years ago and it's fantastic, but I'd rather have a non-stolen bootleg of it and this is the only way. or at least until they decide to terminate the box and throw it on their devices anyway eventually, maybe, years later.

That line up falls much into what I was getting at originally except I figured they'd not cheap out and do another 30, but no it's 21 and $20 more expensive. Go figure.

I've been texting friends, and I'm like going to put what I did to them on there here.

Lethal Weapon quote classic -- I'm getting too old for this shit.

If they pull a shortage. AND if I can not get one before they pull the rug out again at MSRP I may very well just say fuck Nintendo and not buy any of their shit period anymore. If they are so disrespectful of their consumers to just throw shit to scalpers on the after market, why should I bother? (Or anyone for that matter.)

Hopefully there are no problems. Maybe they will supply plenty this go around since there is NOT an excuse for being surprised by the desire after the NES CE debacle.

Let's see how this goes. The lineup Starfox aside is nothing but stunning, though with a few odd omissions. No Pilotwings but F-Zero, No Kirby's Dream Land 3? FF3 but FF2??

I know. It's basically a Star Fox 2 cartridge that happens to have other games. Well played Ninty.

Indeed. The second you see them pop up for pre-order in your country, act fast. Or don't. It's your choice.

When has any major hardware release not gone to scalpers to a certain extent? Especially Nintendo's stuff that plays to nostalgia; I don't think it's possible to keep enough of those on shelves not to run out of stock at launch. Besides, would you rather Nintendo charge $200 for it to keep demand low enough to meet supply? You have to know that price, more than anything else, drives demand. It's relatively cheap, so LOTS of people want it; how many people wanted a PS3 at $600 vs $200?
