WWII Games where you don't fight as the Allies?

Hearts of Iron would be another. Unity of Command has an Axis campaign too.

Codename: Panzers also has a SP campaign for Germany and it's pretty decent strategy game.

I was going to say Panzer General and games of that type, but it was already mentioned. Several games let you choose the side, but I wonder if there are many where you just play Axis (or just Soviets, which I'm not sure count as Allies).

Well, the original Call of Duty did have a portion of the campaign where you played as the Soviets. And the Red Orchestra series previously mentioned has mainly focused on the Eastern Front(with an expansion covering the Pacific theater), though it's primarily a multiplayer series.Ivo wrote:I was going to say Panzer General and games of that type, but it was already mentioned. There is also the IL-2 Sturmovik series, where are flight simulators that mostly focus on the Eastern Front, though you can play with other Allied planes. In particular, the game IL-2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles focuses on the Soviet-Finnish Continuation War and only allows the player to choose between the Nazi Luftwaffe, Soviet Air Force, Hungarian Air Force, or Finnish Air Force as playable campaigns.
There are also some RTS games such as the Blitzkrieg series which let you pick individual armies from both the Allies and the Axis forces. Notably the game engine spin-off Great Battles of WWII: Stalingrad features only a Nazi and Soviet campaign, while the RTS Talvisota: Icy Hell focuses on the Winter War between the Soviet Union and Finland and offers both sides as playable factions. In the RTS game Men of War: Red Tide, the Soviet Union is the only playable faction, while the game Men of War: Condemned Heroes focuses strictly on Soviet penal battalions created by Joseph Stalin's Order No. 227.
There are also some Japan-only strategy games where you play as the Nazis. Barbarossa for the Super Famicom and the Koutetsu no Kishi series for NEC or Super Famicom are all strictly from their point of view.

There is a Taito series called Reishiki Kanjou Sentouki where you are Zero taking part in various Pacific battles. They were released for PS2 and PSP.
There is also a game for Saturn called "Wing Arms" where you are a Zero and a PS1 game called ZERO PILOT.
The NES game "Desert Commander" is 'censored' for the US market. The Japanese version you can play as the Nazis. The Japanese title is "Sabaku no Kitsune" (Desert Fox).

Here's the US box art.
