Heh. I'm trying to find video of it in action but cannot.

Maybe I'm getting it confused with how you can upscale DS games on 3DS. Forgive me if I am.

The way I used to play GBA games on DS was using this thing:

Maybe GBA ExpLoader had an option to increase the screen size, and that's where I'm getting this memory from.

I used to use something similar. Ez 3in1 and a top toy cart i think it was called. The software i used for GBA allowed for a background image to fill the black spaces in the DSL screen. Forget exactly.

DS on 3DS just works.. iduno. I just play it. heh

What the living fuck? I've picked up 4 GBA SPs in decent condition in the last year and a half for <$30 each, and at least 3 were AGS-101 versions. When did they spike like that?

Fairly recently, it's a this year thing. I am not sure how far back, the guess going now maybe Pokemon Go expectation then release impacted it as their games on GB/GBC/GBA went up.

The price spike is absolutely because of Pokemon GO.

On that note, I'm going to sell off that Pokemon Fire Red cart I picked up at Goodwill for pennies. Let's see what the market will bear. Maybe I can get enough paypal money for a RAM upgrade on my old Mac.

If you only want to play gameboy advance games, and never want to play gameboy color or B&W gameboy games, then a DS or DS lite would be just fine for that purpose. If you ever want to play gameboy color or B&W gameboy games, you're going to want to get a GBA.

Problem solved then. Play your GBA games on a DS lite or an original DS.

The GBA cartridges will fit flush on the original DS, but the DS lite looks sexier. The white balance of the screens is a little bit different, but you barely notice it. They use different charging ports. Not much difference otherwise.

Battery life is a little improved, a bit more comfortable, speakers are a bit more audible, and the screen is brighter and I think it refreshes a little different too beyond white balance. If you had to go with a DS get the lite for GBA.

If you're a badass with plastic+bondo modding, tear the top off and make a GB Macro.

The macro's are cool.. but rarely look good (Mod wise) hehe

Guess i will find out my answer in a week or so.. won one for $40 CAD.. What's that like $12 USD?

Yeah if someone (often sadly) doesn't do it right, it looks like lumpy and warped along the top where some chopping and patching with bondo need to be done which sucks...they turn into DS Sloth or something. I've seen them done right, comes off with nice corners and a basic soft design sort of like those weird chinese emulator dingoo knockoff things.
