Looks very good. I hope it holds up in level design.

Some gameplay. Looks incredible! I'm just not too sure of the point of the rehashed old levels. It looks like a complete identical replica of Green Hill Zone, although Sega did say the game would feature remixes of old levels, so maybe it ends up being something entirely different. Hard to tell from short gameplay footage.

Granted I'm completely out of the loop on the NX, but the game comes out early 2017. Isn't that before NX is out but well into the death cycle of the Wii u? Plus this is being made by a relatively small group outside of Sega. Maybe they had a harder time getting an NX dev kit?

It really sounds odd that is not on NX... maybe they'll ported when we get to actually know a few more things or when its released?

Well i absolutely love the animation on sonic at the end of the video and the game looks great... wonder if this digital only or comes o retail as well.

It comes out "Spring 2017", which is when the NX is supposed to launch. Who knows though? I'm sure there's a reason, or maybe a NX/3DS/Wii U port will be announced later.

As someone who grew up in the 90s it makes perfect sense for a Sonic game to NOT be on a Nintendo console. Nintendo is Sega's sworn enemy.

Here's a longer vid. You can see that there is a whole upper area of green hill that's new.

Sonic Generations wasn't on Wii. In fairness, I posted this before the new Sonic game got confirmed for NX, so with that new information, I agree that it doesn't make sense. My lack of surprise comes from the fact that since the contract with Nintendo re: Sonic games is fulfilled and expired, I have zero expectation of third party support for Wii U, even from Sega. Maybe I'm jaded, but I've been let down too many times as a Wii U lover.

Nintendo let you down, not Sega.
