The kids and I still play and are having fun with it. I'd be up for a game night as well.

Played this today for the first time, despite picking it up back around its release
My son loves it and has been itching to get me to play. He whooped my butt at some two-player balloon popping thing and so I started playing through the campaign tonight to learn the ropes. What's the long term appeal of this one?

Truthfully not much unless you like the online matches. They are REALLY fun, but online multiplayer doesn't hold my attention, so this is one I shelved pretty quickly. Might pick it back up again if we can get a group playing together with voice chat of some sort (maybe a Skype conference call?).

I just got addicted to the online multiplayer. It's so much fun! I played the single player game a couple of times, but found it a bit boring.

This is a fun game and is clearly designed (and marketed) for the online multi-player experience - which it does extremely well. Those expecting an epic single player mission experience can only blame themselves for expecting that.

True. I didn't even know there was a single player mode until I put it in my Wii U, lol. I tell you what, though, for being Nintendo's first real, big online focused game (as far as I'm aware, anyway), they did a fucking bang up job on Splatoon. I may get bored of it relatively quickly, but it's an absolutely incredible game.

I never played Splatoon, but I never assumed it even had single player. I figured it to be like a TF2-lite kind of game?
