Back when I was really into playing music-less old WRPGs I'd play black metal or "dungeon synth" for accompanying music.

I'll throw on a CD if I have to spend time grinding in an RPG.

I have seen games on Steam with the "custom soundtrack" thing. How does this work? They use mp3s from your PC?

Ah man, this brings back fond memories of playing the hip hop custom soundtrack for Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (DC) and creating one for Guilty Gear X (DC). Man, talk about increasing the experience with something so simple as your own music. This makes me appreciate modern consoles that allow you to play your own music instead of the game's soundtrack. When I did a playthrough of Bayonetta, I downloaded Fly Me to the Moon (Climax) and just played that on loop. That song will never get old to me.

Lol, not at all. I've been taken for a ride by Marvel 2 so much that I'm sick of the song. My mom used to get pissed if I'd leave the character select screen on for too long.
