I actually played a lot of Yo! Noid as a kid and I don't remember a card game.

Re: Card games inside of other games
I believe there's a concentration style card game in between levels in much the same vein as SMBIII (I'm working purely from memory though).Stark wrote:I actually played a lot of Yo! Noid as a kid and I don't remember a card game.
Oh dude, believe it or not Yo! Noid is actually a fairly competent NES platformer! I'd probably even go so far as to call it a hidden gem. Remember that this was a Capcom game released during the height of their halcyon days on the NES, in roughly the same league as their other above-average licensed titles (i.e. most of their licensed Disney output)MrPopo wrote:I'm not sure anyone has played enough of Yo! Re: Card games inside of other games
The card game in Yo Noid! is in between certain stages. The original Japanese game this was based off of, Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru, used the card game as a boss battle. When the Domino's license was slapped on, it became a "Pizza Eating Contest" instead.
In both games, the idea was to use a card higher than your opponent's so that way you could do more damage (or send pizzas over for you to eat to win). There was also a "pepper" card if you could not play a higher card (a helmet in the Japanese original to protect you from an attack) and if you picked up a "II" icon in the previous stage, it would double your attack (or pizza quantity) when used.

Re: Card games inside of other games
I seem to remember another RPG with a card game. I think it was Tales of Destiny II (aka Tales of Eternia).
Was kind of like UNO, if I remember right.
Not sure if it had any real use in the game.

If your looking for Trading Card/Battle Card Video games, I know of a bunch cause I collect them due to not having time to play MTG anymore. Only prob I'm tired as shit and can't throw a list right now, so you'll have to wait till the am.
Edit: also info is limited online of such games.
